Lasting Construction

Construction-physical Experiment- and Measure Centre (BEM)
We offer courses in energy efficient construction; in quality assurance during the construction works and in construction physical measure methods.

- Blower-Door-Method
- Infraredthermografy
- Thermal conductivity of construction materials
- Acquisition of room-climate data

New building as a model project
The principles of lasting construction were excellently realised during the new building of our Centre of Competence in Cottbus.
- Filter plant for plants
- Heat recovery
- Solartherme
- Conditioning of rain water
- Waste separation
- Roof garden (green roof)
- Energy management of buildings

Didactic-methodic principle
“Parts of structure” = “Parts of learning”

Most important construction details are signed on the part of structure of Competent Centre. Other parts are copied in different models. Exemplifications about these details and about some ecologic aspects are demonstrated on presentation boards. These demonstrations are used in all parts of education.

Lasting Construction aims at
- minimum dispersion of energy
  consumption and resource
  consumption
- minimum dispersion of burden of
  natural environ- ment
  (eco-system)
at all phases of life time cycle of building from planning until deconstruction..

Blower-Door-Method

Air density of buildings is checked with this method. There is produced an over pressure or a low pressure with a blower. (50Pa through external air. So you can measure the air-stream volume produced by the blower. If the proportion between the measured air-stream volume and the volume of the building is bigger than 3, it is required to localise and eliminate the source of leak.
